I got to eat healthy brownie batter for breakfast this morning. Well… not exactly. But it TASTED like brownie batter, so it totally counts!!
The recipe was for brownie batter overnight oats and what better to do with the simple combination of greek yogurt, plain oats, and some chocolate? I love chocolate and I also like being healthy and this recipe was the perfect combination of both.
The recipe is very simple. I had all the ingredients in my fridge, already. To make the deliciousness, you’ll need
- 1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
- A pinch of salt
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 2tbs of cocoa powder
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1/4 a cup of protein powder (or additional oats)
- 2tbs of sugar (I used brown sugar)
Combine all of this into a big and srat-like mason jar and then mix. Let it sit in the fridge overnight so that the oats can soak up all the chocolate goodness and viola! You have a ready-to-go breakfast that tastes like a brownie but is actually low calorie and PACKED with protein.
