The Henry, West Hollywood

There’s nothing like weekend brunch with your girls… Even better if you “Follow the Arrow” to The Henry, in West Hollywood!

Sam Fox, founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts opened his first restaurant at just 21 years old- and became nationally well-known after his revolutionary success with True Food Kitchen in 2008.

Sam added The Henry’s West Hollywood location to his collection after the success of the Phoenix restaurant of the same name (affectionately nicknamed “the greatest neighborhood restaurant” by Phoenician locals) which became a ritzy LA edition of the all-day eatery in the luxurious Robertson Plaza.

The restaurant features a variety of daily menus offering pastries, light lunch fare, and hearty dinner choices- with a classic ambiance which makes you feel like you’re dining as a character in a Gatsby era film.

The Henry offers a spacious outdoor patio and expansive indoor space bursting with charm and life. The first thing you encounter upon walking in is an enormous coffee bar (my favorite thing to see at any time of day) attached to a charming, raised cocktail bar (another one of my favorite things to walk into).

Lounge seating and an open dining room with plenty of natural light look onto an open kitchen where you can see the cooks working hard to prepare your meal.

For brunch, I started off with coffee- a latte called “the wildflower.” It’s a deliciously sweet combination of espresso, vanilla, splash of chai, and steamed milk.

I also had the opportunity to taste a spritz from the mimosa cart paired a side starter of the daily pastry- a seasonally themed, flaky scone topped with vanilla frosting drizzled to perfection.

For my entree I ordered the “smashed avocado toast,” made with cage-free eggs. This savory combination of crushed egg, farmhouse cheddar, buckwheat and everything spice on crispy toast was filling and flavorful.

The Henry is kid-friendly and dog-friendly (thank goodness, because this is Los Angeles after all) with plenty of gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options to satisfy any type of eater.
