Miro- The Whiskey Lounge, DTLA

Located downstairs of the Miro restaurant, is “The Whiskey Lounge,” a dim and sultry speakeasy feeling bar downtown with one of the most “inclusive and eclectic” whiskey collections in the city.

The intimate underground establishment takes over the corner of Wilshire and Figueroa across the street from the Wilshire Grand Center in the heart of the Financial District of Downtown Los Angeles and offers a wide variety of rare, vintage, and notable whiskies distilled around the world including Scotland, Japan, and Ireland.

Its menu includes the unique option of trying a “whiskey flight,” which are organized in order by country. Conner ordered the “American” flight which was a taste of three different whiskeys hailing from Napa, CA, Colorado, and right here from LA.

I ordered wine because well, it was Wednesday.

Each whiskey had a distinct flavor that can be appreciated through its individual aroma and taste. I enjoyed the swanky ambiance and the plush lounge chairs, the light of the flickering candles and backlit bar bottles making the space feel straight out of an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel.

The Whiskey Lounge also makes hand crafted cocktails and has a wine menu, if you’re not a whiskey connoisseur- but either way if you’re looking to feel like Gatsby for a night, visit The Whiskey Lounge in Downtown Los Angeles for a proper nightcap.

Miro is located at 888 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90017 and open 11am-10pm Mon-Sat, closed on Sundays.
